My Remarkable Mother 💜

Created by Catherine 2 years ago

My Wee Mama defied odds from the moment she was born. She was born with spina bifida, a dislocated pelvis, and a body that amazed and fascinated  doctors every time we went, at how she had lived with this remarkable body.  As you can imagine, the medical technologies we have nowadays were not readily available in the 1940s, and she was very much a "I've lived this long with it, if they start poking and prodding about with me it's bound to cause issues"  She was told she would never have Children, she went on to have 8 Beautiful Children, naturally and all perfectly healthy, and I quote her *it was like shelling peas* she was also told she would end up in a wheelchair, the strength she had to keep her quality of life and her independence was truly Remarkable, a true inspiration, a force to be Reckoned with. Whenever I looked at, or thought about my mum, I would  see courage, bravery, strength. 💜

Above all else, she had a heart as Strong and as Big as the universe, always thinking of others before herself, would help anyone in need and always there with an ear and advice, without judgement. The kindest, most selfless soul I've ever known 💔  A Homebird who put aside her own dreams and ambitions to bring up her family and put everyone ahead of herself. And I was blessed and honoured to be able to Call Her My Mum. 🙏

I hope she is somewhere Out there, living her dreams and ambitions alongside my Dad now, with no hardships, no suffering and no struggles.

The Missing, is the Hardest Part, not only did I lose My Mum, I Lost the Bestest Friend that ill ever have in life, but I'll take the pain everyday of my life, if it means she's free from the pain and suffering.

It's never Goodbye Mum. 💜
